Grand Theft Auto IV Sets New Record
AdvertisementThe Grand Theft Auto IV game also known as GTA IV and GTA 4 sets new Guinness world record upon it’s release. It sets a new record as the Highest Grossing Video Game in 24 Hours and the Highest Revenue Generated by an Entertainment Product in 24 Hours World Record. It sold selling 3.6 million units, earning $310 million in its first day of release and grossing more than $500 million in its first week. No doubt, Grand Theft Auto IV is the most profitable entertainment release of all time. Incidentally, the Ps2 game GTA: Vice City is the Best Selling Ps2 Game with 15 million copies sold.
The game is set in a redesigned rendition of Liberty City, a fictional city based heavily on modern day New York City. It follows Niko Bellic, a Serbian veteran of the Bosnian War who comes to the United States in search of the American Dream, only to find his cousin has lied about the wealth that was promised to be awaiting him. Like other games in the series, GTA IV features “open-world” gameplay that gives the player more control over their playing experience. GTA IV is the first console game in the series to feature an online multiplayer mode, which contains fifteen different game types.
