AdvertisementI’ve been playing Ragnarok Online since 2003 and I must say I had my fair share in the Ragnarok schemes and scams by other players. I’ve been a victim myself. I was just new to the game and I would love to have a Healing Clip. So I traded my muffler [1] and zeny and when the deal is done, all I have is a Clip [1] with no Vitata Card. Grrr!!!! I hated that day. The next one, I was tempted to buy the healing clip (again) for 50php. But what happened is, he never gave me the healing clip. From that day on, I stop dreaming of having a heal clip because it’s a jinx.
Here are the list of the Ragnarok Schemes and Ragnarok Scams that I have encountered in my years of playing.
Buy and Sell Ragnarok Scheme - This Ragnarok scheme usually occurs in a place where there are a lot of people like Prontera. One person would make a pub selling his goods for a price and in a distant area, one person buys the same good a high price. Chances are, you’ll be tempted to buy that good then sell it to the one buying it. But beware for this is a scam. As soon as you buy the goods, both players would disappear.
Pre-caution: You’ll know its obviously a scam if you see one. For example a jellopy, who buys them for 1M?
Ragnarok Load scam - A lot has been a victim of this. People would trade their Ragnarok Load for zeny and vice-versa. In the end, the people you deal with would not give you his share in the trade
Pre-caution: Never trust players that are using novices or people that you do not know
Ragnarok Deal hack
I just heard of this but I don’t know if it’s true. If you deal a player, he could hacked you.
Pre-caution: Never deal with players that are suspicious. Like selling items for a low price or buying items with a very high price.
Ragnarok Deal bug or the infamous Ghost deal
This is a bug in Ragnarok Online that the Gravity developers did not forsee (maybe). It goes like this. You are either selling or buying something in Prontera. A player would offer to trade with you. A player would deal you then then deal you again once the trade window is open. You’ll place the item, then he’ll cancel it. Then the mischievous player would ask you to pass something to his another character or make other excuses. You’ll agree on helping him but when you click the trade window, the items you traded with him before is gone.
Precaution: See the trade window who you are dealing with. Don’t trust people that you don’t know. I think Gravity already fixed this. Too bad for the players who are victims of this bug, their items were not returned nor they were compensated.
Ragnarok scam - False advertising
This Ragnarok scam happens in Prontera. Merchants would write in their shop title Muffler [1] or Shoes [1] . But the truth is, its a non slotted item.
Precaution: Check the item first before clicking the buy button.
Ragnarok scam - False item scheme
The Ragnarok false item scheme got me. This is common with clips, mufflers and other slotted equipments. At first they will show you the real thing then they will cancel the deal, making ecuses. Then they will deal you again, this time its not the same item anymore. The healing clips would just be a plain clip [1]
Ragnarok Chixilog scam
The chixilog scam is the ultimate Ragnarok scam. Chixilogs are male players with female avators. They would befriend and make a guy fall for them, saying they are real female iRL. Guys would fall then he’ll give items and equipmens to the chixilogs. These is a long term Ragnarok scam because the relationship might go on for years. Poor guy 
Maybe I should write a post on how to spot a chixilog.
But no matter how you cry for help, unfortunately the GM team would not help nor entertain you.

hehehe..sa sobrang excited na magkaroon ng healing clip,eh madali ka nga ma scam,ang style kc ng mga scammer eh,papakita muna syo,tapos kaw naman babayaran mo agad,syempre e cancel nya muna yun,tpos papakita ulit syo,uulit ulitin ka lang nun hanggang sa hindi na nya e cancel,it means test ka nya kung babayaran mo na,tapos nun de trade mo na??ang hindi mo alam hindi na iyon yung gusto mo bilin kc pinalitan na nya yun ng iba or wla na cards,it means na SCAMM ka na,^_^kya sa susunod check mo muna yung item na bibilin mo okay??

Never ask another player how much an item costs in game. Ive told people 1mill on a 10mill item and they didnt know any better, and yeah, I bought shit for cheap like that. I dont do it anymore though cause that would ruin my good rep xD

as a former scammer,, there’s another scam technique i want to share to you guyz,, and this is what i used back then xD..
it goes like this.. una look for an item na kksya sa bujet mo ex u have 3m, go 4 aoa’s & other items n pde mo ma buy with 3m hanap ka nyn ng mga nkapub.. knwari my nkta ka 4 sale.. S>+4 aoa 3m.. deal mo xa then pakita mo 3m mo.. tpos cancel mo.. then make an excuse na pde tawad piso? tpos gwin mo n lng nun na 299,999.. kung bobo xa magadd msscam xa! xD

bago lang aq sa RO when my husband and i got scammed, it was in prontera knight ata nag deal sa amin. we were luking for an item di lumapit si scammer, then we are such newbies kaya nilagay namin yung money agad then all of a sudden bigla nag iba yung items na ibibigay nya and he/she ran away. hai bakit ba may mga taong ganun? walang pambili kaya nanloloko na lang!

The false item scheme used to be a HUGE scam on my server, I dont think anyone does it anymore though. Everytime someone would deal you you would have to check the item, even if they have already cancelled the deal several times due to being “overweight” or some other lame excuse.
Im just glad people stopped doing it. Nobody ever scammed me with it, but it was annoying as hell.

I was scammed by Mvpbreaker07 at pRO Valkyrie worth 41m. She ghost dealed me, and I couldn’t cancel my deal. . . when I reconnect my 41m was gone.

i know a scam.. it was done to me.. the player ask you if you want a way to duplicate an item.. and he will explain about a bug.. then he will ask you to form a party.. he will ask you to drop the item that you want to duplicate.. of course you get it back.. then he will again aks you to drop it and get it for the second time.. but what you don’t know is that the party formed is shared items.. so the second time you took that item the other player will get it.. then suddenly he will log out T_T

first off, real money trades/deals for zeny or ingame items…isn’t this illegal? siguro hindi pinipigilan ng GM yung mga nanloloko at nagpapaloko kasi bottomline it’s your deal, your responsibility. I’ve been playing since 2k3 myself and the only way to avoid getting scammed is simply not to trust anyone you don’t know. IRL it’s stupid to follow a stranger in some isolated location and expect some fairy godparent would show up. bakit kasi kailangan pagkakitaan ang RO sa ganyang paraan seriously? OK lng ung mga nananalo sa events IRL like RWC pero yung mga load or ROK for ingame items or zeny? kung ako ang LUG I won’t help you retrieve your items. these kinds of schemes are not promoted and even banned in the license agreement (binasa nyo ba?) kaya it’s the player’s sole responsibility. walang sisishan.
next, FORCE deals, muntik na ko mahack. who to thank? yung mga nanlilimos ng zeny. if you get in this situation and u can’t cancel the deal, pray you don’t lag, and not get disconnected, immediately find a way to have someone else request a deal to you again. this way macacancel ung force deal. and always, always save a screenshot to report the scammer.
