The Sign Quest Part 7: The Sign
AdvertisementStart with Ragnarok Sign Quest main page. I provided some tips to make The Sign Quest experience less difficult for you.
1. You need to have the 5 witch medals in your inventory if you chose the witch path. Talk to Kirkena and you’ll receive experience points reward. She’ll asks you to talk to Lady hell once more.
2. Talk to the Depressing Man Gen in order to enter Lady hell’s room.
3. Talk to Lady Hell.
4. Go to Geffen town again the the telescope and proceed to the Valkyrie’s temple. Talk to Valkyrie and she’ll be happy about what you did. She’ll give you the sign as a proof that you are among the chosen one.
5. Go back to Prontera to Metz and handover the Sign to him. He will now start to study the Sign. It will take 3-4 hours for Metz to study the sign. If you give him the sign at 10:30pm. The safe hour to get the sign from him is 2pm.
6. Speak with Metz again after 3-4 hours, you need to bring the sign to Engel Howard (mjo_dun02 88 295) to fix it. Again, it will take 3-4 hours for Engel to fix the Sign. If you give the sign to him at 2:10 pm, the safe hour to get the sign from him is 6pm.
7. Finally, bring the sign back to Metz. His wishes are now fulfilled. He’ll reward you with 2,000,000 base EXP.
8. Go back to Gen in Niflheim and give choose Sobbing Starlight. Lady Hell will reward you with Lucifer’s Lament (transferable item) You can now access the Geffenia. Just click on the fountain in Geffen to activate the switch.

If you finish the quest and receiving the The Sign using a second Job does this mean that you can’t become a advance job because The Sign can’t be removed in you inventory and advance job quest requires you to butt naked (i mean no zenny, no items equips and loots.) Is The Sign an exception?

David, I had a problem that looks like yours when I delivered the sign to Engel and waited over a week and nothing and he would just never give it back to me. Then later I left my character sitting next to him and went to sleep. When I came back, he had finished it. Maybe it’s the same with Metz, who knows…

When you give Metz the sign, you have to wait between 3 to 4 hours for him to return it to you.
But there is a trick, for exaple, if you give the sign to him at 3:10 PM, you should start counting the hours from the next rounded hour, in this case, 4PM, so 4 PM + 3 hours, Metz should return the sign to you at 7 PM. You will have to do the same thing when the blacksmith repairs the sign. If you dind’t ask for the sign that day, you will have to ask for it at 7 PM of the next day.

If the witch is warping you to Umbala then you’re talking to the wrong witch. You gotta talk to the tombstone thing beside her portait on the second floor. The map the tombstone warps you to has a different witch npc than the one the piano warps you to

for those who doesn’t know how to convert empty bottle to cursed bottle, first finish the sign quest. If you got access to the Realm of Darkness, you’ll see that there’s a well on the path towards Lady of Hell. If you drink the water from the well, sayonara~ you must first finish the task of bringing the Spiritual Whisper to The Queen of Dead, then you’ll have the permission to use the well. Use this chance to fill a bottle the foulness of the world ever known. Seriously, who would want to drink a water that comes from hell?

So Lythka, you telling us that after we finish the Sign Quest completely u could talk to the “Depressed Man” to access the Lady Hell Room (fountain room) to make cursed water? thnx in advance

Excellent guide ! And phew, I didn’t take Serin’s path. She’s evil. EVIL ! I didn’t know it, but I wanted more action so I took the witch.
